Getting It All Done & Feeling Good About It!

Life is a busy blur at times, isn't it? Even today, on a holiday, I find myself trying to chip away at my ever-growing "to do" list. There just aren't enough hours in the upcoming week to get through all my assignments and tasks before I head out of town to speak at the American Massage, Chiropractic and Acupuncture Conference April 20-22 in San Diego and IECSC April 23-24 in New York. Please join me if you are in the area of either event!

But back to the topic at hand...how do we get things done?

The most obvious answer - though probably not the most popular or easiest  - is to just DO THEM! Get out of your own way, stop procrastinating, making excuses and getting distracted by Facebook. Take one step after another towards the things on your list and little by little you will accomplish a few things.

But what if that isn't enough to empty your list or get where you want to be?

One of my mentors and coaches, Stephanie Frank, sent me some helpful hints this morning that I thought I would pass on. Essentially her words of wisdom on how to get things done are to PRIORITIZE and DELEGATE. Here's her blog on the topic and some other great words of wisdom. I've been diligently working on doing both of these in my own businesses and encourage you to do the same.

But what do you do if you don't know what is most important to you or what you are trying to accomplish in your business? You may have to take a step back and look at your goals - making sure they are what YOU want to have be or do - and then see if that long to do list has anything at all on it that will help you get where you want to be.

If it seems like I talk about setting goals a lot, well it is because I do. It is SO crucial to know what it is you want - what you REALLY want - for your career and business in order to bring it to fruition. Without a clear sense of purpose or direction, you can literally wander around professionally for years with little to no success and lots of frustration.

So, perhaps before doing anything else on that list of yours, you need to take the time to uncover what you truly desire in your career and life. Once you know that and start to put a plan in motion, life can and will move in mysterious ways to help you accomplish things you never thought were possible. Let me know how I can be of help!

Is giving back on your list of "to-dos" and something that important to you? Consider making a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in honor of my friends Angie Patrick and Scott Dartnall, organizers of the American Massage Conference, and both of whom have children that have benefitted from the charity.

Prior to the conference in San Diego, there is also a golf tournament on Thursday April 19th to raise money for Stephan, the San Diego child they are sponsoring. Click here to learn more about Stephan or to make a donation. I will actually be "playing" in the tournament (or at least entertaining people with my interpretation of golf!) If you are in the area or coming to the conference, feel free to sign up to play also as several spots are still open.

AND...if your email me a copy of your donation receipt or tournament registration by April 30th and I'll send you a FREE MP3 download of my latest audio course on GOAL SETTING. You may also
click here to purchase the CD version - for just $15 (plus shipping) - also until April 30th.
