Something New...Music Reviews
Lately an interesting thing has happened. I've been getting relaxation CDs in the mail and requests from composers and other music companies to review their CDs and collections. Since I really like the free music and want to share it with people who can use it in their own spas, massage practices or wellness business - THAT'S YOU - I've decided to post regular reviews on my blog.
I'll review one or two CDs at a time - depending on how many are in the cue - and tell you what I like about each one. And since I really hate to say anything bad about people's work and art - especially since musical taste is so subjective and I am not a trained musician myself - I'm simply not going to share information on CDs that I don't like. That way you - the reader - only get information on what I consider good stuff and the artists only get recognition that is positive.
So here's the first one, which is a bit overdue.
Escapes by Jeff Gold
Described by one listener as "music to float upon," this CD provides a full hour of smooth, melodic and uplifting acoustic music intended for Massage and Yoga sessions, long drives and meditation.
Since I first received this CD several months ago, it has become a part of my "regular rotation" of music that I use in massage. I find it fills the background in an easy way - never obtrusive or over the top - but in a way that cushions the space of my massage room for everyone who enters. My clients love it!

Feather on the Breath of God by by Erin Jacobsen
This CD literally gave me chills the first time I listened to it. As I allowed the music to fill the air of my office, I felt a smattering of emotions and a strong desire to be the one on the massage table instead of the one giving the massage. It's sensitively blended notes will bring about introspection, relaxation and a connection to the heavens and beyond.
From the album cover: "Peaceful music blending the gentle sounds of piano, flute, and guitar. Distant choirs, chimes, and a heavenly breath of wind all contribute to an album that will stir every emotion. This album has found a home in every area of healing and health." I strongly agree!
