Is Prosperity a State of Being or a State of Mind?

I've had some pretty amazing things happen lately, especially in relation to money. For example, the other day I was paying bills at my office. One that I really concerned about paying was around $500. Unfortunately the money seemed a little out of reach. So I put that one back in the drawer and headed home for the day. As I was driving along, I just randomly said to no one in particular, "I need $500." More of a statement of fact than anything. I thought nothing more about it.

Before I got home, I decided to go by my bookkeeper's office to drop off a few things she needed. As we were talking she gave me a list of additional information she wanted me to bring her. So when I got home I started going through my files looking for the paperwork she had asked me to gather.

Do you know what I found? A canceled check for $500 - one that I'd written a year ago to pay the bill I was feeling concerned about just a few hours earlier. I knew I had paid the bill but the creditor had no record of it in their files and I hadn't been able to find the check (or even the register it was recorded in) anywhere. It was truly a moment of intense gratitude and amazement!

This isn't the only "flow of abundance" that has happened recently. Other unexpected money has been found or sent my way. New work opportunities and product sales have come out of the clear blue. And believe it or not, a few spas and massage therapists have gifted me with their services and/or products. I feel so blessed and grateful.

Why do I share this? Because this experience - and the others that have followed in the last few weeks - have reminded me that the state of mind I'm in has a lot to do with the state of being I create around me. Despite the challenges I've faced in this economy, both in my own businesses and personally, I have been living and breathing in abundance. I've learned to be thankful for all I do have and to make the most of the resources at my disposal.

I've also been ridding my life of energy zappers (you know all the stuff that you put off doing but know you need to get done) and letting go of what no longer serves me in terms of possessions, memories and relationships. It feels really good. And I truly believe that by moving some of the things that have been weighing me down, I've been better able to tap into a world of positive emotions. I've also been able to recognize and access the abundance that has been around me all the time.

So what's the message? To be thankful for what you have, active in letting go of what you no longer want or need and ready to accept the prosperity of mind and being that you so deserve. Namaste
