5 Tips in 5 Days for Over the Top Holiday Sales

It's Day 2 of your sales tips for over the top sales this holiday and gift-giving season. Take the time to implement what you read AND share the details with your clients for better than ever holiday sales.

Today's Tip - Create and feature ready to go holiday service and gift packages for easy shopping! Most spa businesses have a number of everyday service packages on their menu of options. But how many of them draw attention to those packages for easy holiday shopping? And how many massage or skin care practices take advantage of this sales technique to increase their overall sales? Well not enough frankly. But the truth is that offering packages or bundled services is a great way to increase your sales and gift certificate revenuesvduring the holidays as well as the rest of the year.


Start by creating packages that appeal to a couple of specific target markets that your business caters to. For example, have a men's packagemother-to-be package, teen package and a couples' or romance package. For massage therapists who cater more to pain oriented clients or deal with stress management versus pampering, you can offer sport or injury specific combos, headaches or stress busters or simply combine some retail items that help treat these issues with a gift certificate for a regular session.

You can also group or feature packages by price points or increments starting at the $20 - $25 range and moving up from there. Then your clients can easily choose what fits into their budget without having to hunt too hard or feel bad for having to ask if you have anything less expensive than what is on the menu.

And for those last minute shoppers or others who hate to wrap, you might think about creating some gift bags that include a dollar value certificate along with popular skin, body or relaxation products that are ready to go. This is actually a really easy way to bump up those certificate sales and help clients feel like the gift they give (or receive) is a little more personal than just a plastic card.

Once you've got your packages selected, take a few minutes to create a flyer or sign that can be posted in treatment rooms and client areas as well as the front desk. Make sure anyone answering the phone or talking to clients knows about featured packages. And of course be sure to promote all your packages and specials on your website and make them available for online gift certificate purchases.
