How Louise Hay Keeps Helping Me
I first read one of Louise Hay's books when I was a new massage therapist over fifteen years ago. At the time I was really beginning to delve into some of my own healing and found her story and words to be very helpful and inspiring.
Every once in a while I pick up one of her books again and remind myself of some simple ways to take care of myself, heal from new and old wounds and move on with my life. Recently I found just what I needed in You Can Heal Your LIfe. Though a number of ideas and exercises rang true for me yet again, there is one I have put into practice almost every day since I re-read it. It is simply stating some positive affirmations about letting go. I truly believe that by letting go of what is not working or what is no longer needed in our lives, we make space for what we really want to have, be and attract.
So if you see me driving down the road talking to myself, this might be what I am saying:
I am willing to let go. I release. I let go.
I release all stress and tension.
I release all pain and restriction.
I release all fear and anxiety.
I release all sadness and grief.
I release all anger and resentment.
I release all guilt and sorrow.
I let go of everything that no longer serves me.
I let go of all old limitations.
I let go and I am at peace.
I am at peace with the process of life.
I am at peace with the past.
I am at peace with the present.
I am at peace with myself.
I am at peace.
I am safe.
And of course to attract something positive into the space that is left I usually add "I am open to receive all the abundance and happiness the Universe has for me. I easily attract and accept all the prosperity, love, joy and positive energy that is available for me."
These affirmations may not be the perfect fit for you, but they have worked well for me. Whatever you choose, remember to use words and phrases that bring you peace, power, energy or positive thoughts about yourself what you want in your life, relationships, career or business.
