Tips for Success from Other Business Owners
Anyway, I just read this great article on 25 Tips By Entrepreneurs for Entrepreneurs by Cynthia Schmae that I wanted to share with you. Since someone else already wrote it, I will just pick my top five from the list, but you can read the whole piece by clicking here.
-
Find people who will refer jobs/clients to you. If they send you nightmare jobs/clients, make sure they're balanced out with rewarding (profitable!) ones.
-
Be flexible in your thinking. Prepare to change the way you work, the products you use and the services you offer, in order to meet the demands of your customers.
- Solicit advice from people who know, for example, other entrepreneurs and reputable small business advisers – the SBA and SCORE offer lots of information and support for new businesses.
-
Have an existing, loyal customer base and start locally.
-
Focus on a specific goal and work at it until it’s achieved.
One thing I have to add is to celebrate your successes big and small. Pat yourself on the back when you get a new client, learn how to Twitter or finally paint your break room. Take yourself out of the office for a change of scenery, a scoop of ice cream or to get a massage or facial yourself!
