Can Random Acts of Kindness Change the World?

I am an optimist and truly believe the best about people, both what their intentions are and what they are capable of. That is why I was delighted to find this web site, Daily Challenge, that is totally dedicated to INSPIRING random acts of kindness. When you become a member you can both submit suggestions for good deeds and accept others that you want to do.

The first challenge I submitted is to send loving thoughts and energy to someone you are in conflict with, need to forgive or be forgiven by. The first challenge I accepted was simply to lift my spirits by listening to an upbeat tune of my choice. I'm thinking something by The Gypsy Kings might be the one for me. Check out the site at  http://www.dailychallenge.org/

So why am I sharing this here? Because if anyone has the power to make a difference in the world it is spa professionals. Through the services we provide and environments we create, we already help and touch people one at a time. Why not take that a step further?

Times are tough for everyone in our country as well as around the world. I encourage you to step outside of your own problems and challenges to do something small but potentially meaningful in another person's day or life. And the potential rewards of that are beyond measure.

Good stuff! It's so important to counteract all the bad news (junk food for the mind) and replace it with good news (delicious, healthy food for the mind and soul). your blog entry because sounded very similiar to a "giving movement" that I joined in 2008. The premise is to give something a day (your time, energy, act of kindness, donation, gift etc) each day and blog about the experience - how it the act of giving effected you as the receiver as well as to the giver. Everybody needs a lift these days - and this is one wonderful way to do it. JUST DO IT! For more info go to http://www.29gifts.org/
