Learn about yourself and your business with Google
Have you Googled yourself lately? You know, typed your name or your business name into Google or another search engine. I did this yesterday for the first time in a while and was excited to learn a few things about my business. For example, my CD Just Breathe: Guided Meditations for Inner Peace was listed on www.squidoo.com on a blog about Managing Your Well-Being. Click here to check it out and/or to vote Spalutions to the top!
I also learned that Amazon.com is now offering digital downloads and previews of each track on my CD, which probably expains why my Amazon sales have gone up a bit recently. You can visit www.amazon.com and type in "Felicia Brown Just Breathe" to get a full listing of tracks and previews. Or visit this cumbersome but direct link:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_/103-8113616-8264616?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=felicia+brown+just+breathe
While you are there, please leave a review if you've heard the CD or if you like the previews! If Just Breathe is something you'd like to share with your clients or carry for retail, please contact me about setting up a wholesale account at Felicia@spalutions.com or 336.508.0790.
Now you would think that I would already know these things about my company and business, but I didn't. The Internet is an almost infinite vehicle for content and information, good or bad, and is hard to keep up with sometimes. But through doing this search, I learned that some really cool stuff is going on! And now I am bringing it to you. You can do this with your business too.
Another suggestion I would make is to set up some Google Alerts for your name, company name and/or website. Choices can be made as to the frequency of the reports you get, but they too will provide you with a window into the words being written online about the names or sites you choose to be alerted about. Just go to http://www.google.com/alerts to sign up. You may surprised what you find out!

Hi Felicia
Yep that's right. We should google our names, our business names once in a while to see what has been written about us! Insights gained might help us improve our businee would advise all internet marketing newbies to be careful of what they post or write online as well. It's been said, "Success leaves trails". May I add "failure and disaster leave trails" too!

I couldn't agree more. With the evolution of My Space, Facebook and other social networking sites, people are prone to posting all kind of information and comments that would have never been in the public domain. This may seem innocent to those posting but can be disastrous later on when the information and comments are uncovered by job interviewers or college acceptance commisttes. Online commentary and posts can have an echo that never goes away.
