How do we make changes in our lives?
Today I was talking with a group of women about making changes in ourselves. One woman said how overwhelmed she felt by the enormity of what needed work in her life and felt it was almost too much to do. That got me and the rest of our group talking about how to make changes in our lives. Here are a few of our ideas:
- Become aware of the problems or issues you are dealing with.
- Set your intention to making the change.
- Take one small step or make one choice toward effecting that change.
- Ask others for their help or support in your change.
- Place reminders or affirmations about the change where you can see them...on your desk, on your fridge, etc
- Reward and praise yourself for all of the above and any other ways you take strides toward your goal.
How do you know if you need or even want to change? A couple of suggestions...Take time to be, to be just with yourself and your thoughts through meditation, hiking, journaling, or anything else you truly enjoy. Take this time to explore your mind and your life to see what is working for you. Or like me today, sit down with a group of people that are willing to share of themselves and discuss their own journeys to help you find your own way. Through their words and stories, your own inner voice and desires may well be sparked and you could be on your way toward the path you've been looking for
