Check out my interview and article in DAYSPA & Spa Management Journal
Recently I have gotten some great PR opportunities. The first is an interview in the June issue of DAYSPA magazine entitled "Can't We All Get Along?" The article, written by Chelan David, talks about the importance of diversity training in the spa and salon environment. As this is one of my passions, I was thrilled to be interviewed as one of the experts on the subject. If you subscribe to the magazine already, please take a minute to check it out and let me know if you have any additional questions or would like to bring this type of training to the spa. If you aren't a subscriber but would like to be, visit their website at http://www.dayspamagazine.com/.
The second great PR opportunity is actually an article I wrote for Spa Management Journal's June issue which deals with harassment and sexual harassment. It's hard to believe that either of these problems could occur in the caring, healing atmosphere of a spa. However, our profession is not immune to these kinds of issues and it is crucial for spa owners and managers to be sure their establishments know how to prevent and/or deal with claims and problems in this area. Check out www.spamanagement.com for subscription information if you don't get the publication.
As you can see, I am always on the lookout for ways to promote my business. Take a moment to think about your own business or practice. What areas or topics are you an expert on? What local or trade publications, news programs, or other media outlets would be interested in what you have to share? Keep your eyes open for opportunities to spread the word about what you do and speak up when given the chance
