Connecting with other professionals
Yesterday I attended the intial networking meeting of a group of local massage therapists. The intention behind the meeting was both to connect with other professionals for support and comraderie and to share ideas, issues and techniques with one another. While I am a fairly seasoned professional, I really enjoyed being with this group of colleagues and hearing their stories. I hope I will be of help to all of them in some way or another and know that they have already helped me by once again reminding me why I got into massage therapy and the spa industry as well as teaching.
If you aren't a part of a group like this where you live, consider taking the initiative to start your own. Or visit some of the online forums I've recently discovered such as www.prestonspaforum.net or www.dermascope.com. These discussion boards provide a chance to connect with peers and professionals in the spa, salon and healing arts fields, for fun or learning, in a go at your own pace. Hope to see you there
